Welcome to the Derwent Mountaineering Club (DMC). We are a club based in Matlock, Derbyshire with a wide range of outdoor interests including climbing,
mountaineering, scrambling and walking. We have a diverse membership from around the Matlock area including Belper, Ashbourne, Chesterfield and Derby. We have a range of experience from novice
climbers, north face summiteers, alpinists and some just out for a walk and a range of ages from 20's to 70's and everything in between.
Visit the diary page for a list of future events. If you are interested in attending one of the DMC events and are not a member, please contact the secretary for details on how you could try out one of our meets with a view to becoming a member.
Our aim is simply to enjoy the outdoors, so why not join us and enjoy it too in a friendly and supportive club based on the edge of the Peak District in the Matlock
area? We have a full programme of organised meets - weekends to North Wales and the Lake District, local day and evening meets, social events and trips further afield to the Alps and Scotland - and
we regularly meet each other in between to climb or walk etc.
Find out more about our activities by following the links above. The activities section gives more details of these with examples of our recent exploits. Read our history in the magazine - Scramble -
and have a look at our photo gallery.
If you would like to join the club, or just come and check us out you will find a membership form under the "Join DMC" link and some instructions as to how to do this.
